Custom Furniture Creations

Upon walking into Three French Hens, the team’s commitment to excellence is evident through a number of custom furniture pieces on display.

The store works with numerous vendors and manufacturers to create custom pieces to match a wide range of styles and lifestyles. “Anything you can dream up, we can design,” says owner Rae Sutton. 

For example, by working closely with a furniture manufacturer, they designed a custom wooden desk with hand-carved detailing and hide front panels to give the piece a lodge-like, traditional feel, complete with an onyx top and rivets.

The team at Three French Hens can also take existing furniture and amp it up—for instance, updating it or matching a new style.

“We saw this sofa [in the photo below] in a showroom and thought it would feel much more fresh in a mossy green color,” Sutton says. “We then added a gorgeous nailhead detail and a fun patchwork pillow fabric that can be swapped out seasonally to complete the look.”

Three French Hens also offers a full selection of high-quality; hand-woven; machine-made; wool, silk, and synthetic rugs. The look of the home can then be tied together with handmade draperies done by trusted local seamstresses.

Custom Artwork, Floral Design, and Holiday Decorating

Whether you’re looking for a whimsical painting of your pets or the perfect piece to tie together your room’s color scheme, Three French Hens can have custom paintings commissioned of a variety of subject matters and styles.

“We love our pets, and we love that we can even get custom paintings of our pets in traditional-style garb, to give just one example,” Sutton says.

Additionally, Three French Hens has a team of highly experienced and skilled floral designers who are available for consultations to create custom designs. New and exciting arrangements are also available to select from the showroom floor.

Their designers are also available for holiday decorating, beginning in September, to help transform your home into a winter wonderland.

From start to finish, designers can work with you and your contractor on any building or renovation projects, with furniture, rugs, lighting, and accessories to help you create a complete look that is unique to you. 

For one client, for example, Sutton was tasked with blending a mix of traditional and rustic to create a look that was elevated and fun but still comfortable. The entire vision board came to life after the client saw one fabric in the store’s thousands of options of finishes available.

“She fell in love with the Braemore Pheasant fabric,” Sutton says, “and we built the rest of the room around that.”
