This policy explains how Top10StLouis researches, writes and updates what we publish. Top10StLouis is edited by Alexander Wolk, and articles are published under the byline Alexander Wolk.
Standards
- We publish only what we can verify. If we can’t confirm a fact, we leave it out.
- We do not invent ratings, scores, reviews, quotes or statistics.
- Each top 10 list explains how we picked the businesses on it.
Sourcing
- Every business on a top 10 list is checked against that business’s own website.
- We link the source after each claim, so readers can check it themselves.
- Where laws, deadlines or other rules come up, we describe them as general information, not professional advice.
Independence and no paid placement
- No business can pay to be included on a list or to rank higher.
- Inclusion and order are editorial decisions.
- Any advertising or partnership is kept separate from editorial decisions on our lists.
Updates
- Each list shows a “Last reviewed” date.
- We review lists and update them when businesses change, close or move.
- Articles show their publication date, and our structured data includes the date each page was last modified.
AI use
We use AI tools to assist with research and drafting. Every list is checked against the standards above before publishing, and every claim traces back to a business’s own website or a public listing — not to model output.
